I'm at the grocery store and Chowder calls me to tell me that Jellybean's tooth is loose. What? I'm thinking, "Whatever. How loose can it be?" I get home and Jellybean has a little gap where her bottom tooth use to be. (She went into the bathroom and used a towel to pull it out!) And the other bottom tooth is loose!
Have no fear, I googled it and found that the average age to lose your first tooth is 6-7 years. A year on either side is within the normal range with girls losing their teeth generally earlier than boys. Thank you Dr. Spock! (and yes, I still resource him.)
When did this happen?! My babies! What happened to my babies?! The last three months have been this blur of growing up! And this little tiny baby tooth...just put me over the edge. What a concrete, physical embodiment of her growing up. Leaving her babyhood behind.

Oh i am with you. I am sure i will ball my eyes out when my kid looses their 1st tooth. I was crying when my baby girl started to walk, i didnt want her to stop being my baby! But jellybean is just as cute with 2 less teeth then all of them!
Its all too quick, isn't it. Do u guys do tooth mouse or tooth faerie? Must be weird having sex talk with one kid, encouraging one to take 1st steps and giving money to one who has just lost a tooth???

Congratulations to Jellybean! I feel the same way about mine losing teeth (and I've had plenty that started at 5). *sniffle*
I cried when my daughter lost her first tooth. Balled like a baby. Then I cried the other day because she hasn't lost one for a long time, which means there are less to lose. :(
My 5 yr old just lost her second tooth. And the tooth fairy forgot to come! (Bad mommy!) What's a tooth worth in your part of the woods? In our house they're $1 or $2 (coins) but some of my friends' neighbours have gone up to $20!
Mel~ no lie!
Valerie~ummmm...so a quarter isn't going to cut it?
LOL. Two quarters will seem like more than a dollar probably. Or maybe she likes pennies like my dd. ;) We give out stickers, too.
