I'm not one to call someone stupid...or foolish. But some just get what they are asking for. For example, Boy Cat. Sweeting was playing on the rug in the living room, being her regular menace-self, when he comes walking in and lays down right next to her and starts rolling around on his back to get her to play with him. This same scenario plays out near daily. No lessons have been learned...or else, he actually likes it rough. Girl Cat on the other hand, runs when the Baby Monster comes stomping

Peek-In-Monday
We have a family song that we sing to the babies. It's basically their name followed by La La La's. It's been sung to every baby and it makes them all stop crying. The kids have loved having this simple song to sing to the babies when they are crying, and usually sing it it the car when there is nothing else to be done. It works every time. Here is Sweeting learning the song...

Peek-In-Monday
shoot! I'm a day late! I just bought a cheap, crappy rug (though it looks good from a distance) for our living room. The last one was toast and we have been without one (or a coffee table) for several years, maybe. Anyway, I found this one at Sam's and knew that I didn't have to worry about becoming too attached to it. That's my criteria at this point in time. I won't bring any thing into the house that I will become too upset about losing when it's inevitable demise comes. We don't have "special rooms" in our house. We live in our living room and every other room in this house. Now, I need to head down to the secondhand store to pick up a "new" coffee table.
I have plenty of time for a fancy house with expensive furnishings. Now, is not that time. And when it comes, I expect to be very lonely. On second thought, I will never have time for a fancy house with expensive furnishings. I never want to bring anything into my house that I will become too upset when my grandchildren...
After I brought the rug into the house, Ladybug announced that she needed to "Make it ours." Here is how she did that.

The Week of Being There
Yesterday began the Week of Being There. My week long experiment of not saying, "Just a minute" or "Hang on. Let me finish this." When I'm not doing anything important. When I'm on the computer or getting caught up in cleaning. Things that should not come before the kids. There obviously are things that I'm doing that I have to say, "Just a minute" to, like feeding Sweeting or taking a shower. But, in those cases I will tell them an exact time that I will do such and such with them. This does not mean I don't get any time to myself, it means that I waste a lot of time during the day, these days, that should be going to them.
So, yesterday was our first full day. And you know what? We had a great day! I had a lot of fun. We watched Sound of Music (reigniting my lifelong fantasies about Christopher Plummer), played Yahtzee, and did one of the kids' favorite things...We set up the camera on timer on one end of the room and then race to the other end to get our picture taken.
grrrrr! What happened to the music?! It's so much funnier with Polka music!! Isn't everything?

Peek-In-Monday
You don't have to watch the whole thing, I just didn't feel like going through the bother of clipping it. Although towards the end you get see Humphrey and Boy Cat and their relationship wrought with peril.

Peek In Monday
I know this is quickly becoming a baby only blog, but this is a blog of my life and this my life right now. When I have a new baby, that is all there is. A new precious life that I am privileged to hold in my arms and feed and care for. And when that life is new, and God so fresh on her skin that I can smell his glory, my mothering becomes my purist form worship.
Here is my sacred ground.

Peek-In-Monday
I'm still here! I promise to update tomorrow. I had an OB appointment today and have several annoying tests I have to go through tomorrow.
In the meantime to whet your chops, here's my sister and newborn Ada.

Peek-In-Monday
How a 40lb child plays tug-of-war with an 85lb puppy...
(please excuse the crappy video.)
and yes, we took Humphrey to the vet on Wednesday and he weighed in at 82lbs. Apparently, they gain on average 3 lbs a week. I just stood there laughing. What in the world! 82lbs at 5mos?! But, honestly he is the easiest dog I have ever owned. He loves going to the dog park. He goes to the park and on walks with us everyday. He has learned the basic commands so quickly. And he is so low key I can't believe it. He hasn't chewed up anything he's not supposed to. He has outgrown even the extra large crate, so we confine him to the kitchen at night. He hasn't had a single potty accident since the first two days. The kids are completely in love with him and even my dog hating husband plays with him every morning when he's a bit too rambunctious to play with the kids.

Peek-In-Monday
A little peek into the world of the guitar hero. I, of course, wish the music choice were a little different but hey! I'm a mother I'm supposed to think that. Otherwise what fun would it be for him!
He asked me if I like this song, I said, "No. But wouldn't you be disappointed if I did?" He kind of laughed and said, "Yeah."
I don't know what happened to the sound on this clip. It's fine on my computer...

Lame Peek-In-Monday
We'll have the tech write the gender on a piece of paper that I will be handing to my friend at Moondaysoul Treats who is making cupcakes for us. If the cupcakes are pink? Then, my hunch is right. We'll all find out after dinner when we open the box. I'll of course share that Peek-in tomorrow.

Peek-In-Monday
This has been by far the dreariest, coldest Spring I can remember in this part of the country. Thank God for the small doses of sunshine and warmth that have been handed out quite stingily. They seem so few and far between, that this is what happens...
today we may have 70 degrees and sunshine...I'll believe it when I see it.

enjoy.
And yes, I know The Meatball's helmet is not on right. He lost the extra padding and we haven't gotten more, yet.

Peek-In-Monday...failure.
My photo program is not transferring my video clips! I'm so angry! I have a couple of great clips and they aren't even showing up!
So, here are some still photos of our day on Saturday. So, no video but this is what the video was from. Hopefully I can get it to work and post it later. In the meantime, head over to see Gem's adorable Peek into her morning.
Post yours if you got one!
