Proud Mommy Moment brought to you by the U.S. Treasury

When people ask me to describe Porkchop, I usually tell them that he will be my ticket to heaven or prison depending on which one of us survives his childhood.

Yesterday he swallowed a penny. He kind of panicked and I told him to relax he'd poop it out. Well, that somehow didn't help him relax and he spent the rest of the day obsessing about his poop and the possible pain that will accompany it.

This morning Porkchop woke up at 6am and was an absolute whiny pain-in-everyone's-butt terror. Finally, at one point I actually snarled at him, "I can't wait til you have to poop out that penny!"

I'm giggling here! Yes, this mommy has many great moments like that too! My mom always tells me that it prepares our kids for the "real world"! :P

That is very funny. My oldest was exactly that exasperating as a child!

I work with x-rays and yesterday filed a film for a child who had swallowed a half-inch ball-bearing, so I guess a penny's better than that? :-)

This is when having picky eaters comes in handy. My kids would sooner die than try something new. Currency included.

Bless him, he sounds just like my Dan (same age)! He tried swallowing a marble once, almost choked on it, and has been careful ever since.

Ok, so *today* I filed a film for a 2yo who'd swallowed a penny. (And I really have never come across that before... Small world!)
